1:30 Oberlin Origins + Schoolhouse - Reservations Required
RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED AT THIS TIME. Please make your reservations online or by calling 440-774-1700.

Enjoy the lifestyles and architecture of historic Oberlin in a guided tour of two beautifully preserved buildings--the 1866 Monroe House and the 1836 Little Red Schoolhouse--that tell the unique, nationally significant story of the community and college in Oberlin. Learn about Oberlin's founding as a Christian Perfectionist colony, women attending college, African American education, abolition and the Underground Railroad, decorative arts, student life, and more.

Beginning 11/7/2020, this tour is offered every Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the Oberlin Heritage Center. Admission: $4/adults; OHC members and college students with current IDs free; children free when accompanied by adult. Reservations are required. Allow approximately 45 minutes.

For more information, call Amanda Manahan at (440) 774-1700, or send an e-mail to tourinfo@oberlinheritage.org.

Our 30-minute Oberlin Origins Guided Tour of the Monroe House is offered every Tuesday & Thursday at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. starting in November 2020. Reservations are required and can be placed online or by calling 440-774-1700

***COVID-19 Information***
At this time, all tours will operate with the restricted capacity of nine (9) individuals from one (1) family or familiar group.

FACE COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED FOR VISITORS if they are physically able to do so. Disposable masks are available at the museum, as supplies last (donations are greatly appreciated to help offset costs of providing this service).

All visitors or household groups must complete the COVID-19 screening survey, including the written confirmation that: 1) they do not feel ill or exhibit common COVID-19 symptoms, and 2) they have not knowingly come into contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID-19 within the previous 14 days.

We also encourage visitors to take advantage of our hand sanitizing station and/or restroom for hand washing before and after the tour. We ask all museum patrons to follow social distance guidelines by standing 6 feet apart from individuals not in their immediate familial or familiar group. Visitors who do not follow our safety protocols may be refused service and asked to leave.

The Monroe House and Little Red Schoolhouse are wheelchair accessible. Free parking is available off of 20 West Vine Street in Oberlin, behind the Oberlin Heritage Center's Monroe House where tours begin. Tours are offered rain or shine.
