1:30 Upstairs/Downstairs Guided Tour - Small Town, Big Stories
Enjoy the lifestyles and architecture of historic Oberlin in a guided tour of three beautifully preserved buildings (1866 Monroe House, 1836 Little Red Schoolhouse, 1884 Jewett House) that tell the unique, nationally significant story of the community and college in Oberlin from their beginning in 1833 until the 1930s. Learn about Oberlin's founding as a Christian Perfectionist colony, women attending college, African American education, abolition and the Underground Railroad, aluminum history, decorative arts, the Progressive Era, student life, and more.

This tour is offered every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the Oberlin Heritage Center.
Admission: $6/adults. OHC members and college students with current IDs free; children free when accompanied by adult. Reservations appreciated; walk-in visitors welcome also. Allow 75-90 minutes. For more information, call Amanda Manahan at (440) 774-1700, or send an e-mail to tourinfo@oberlinheritage.org.

Due to the nature of these historic buildings there is some stair climbing involved. Two of the three buildings have wheelchair access to the first floors. Free parking is available off of 20 West Vine Street in Oberlin, behind the Oberlin Heritage Center's Monroe House where tours begin. Tours are offered rain or shine.
